Happy New Year! My family wishes you all a very successful and blessed 2008!
I keep asking myself is I should keep going with this blog- I know I have said it here before but I feel like I am missing so many important things that the girls are doing and/or saying. But I have a horrid memory and can not remember anything these days! I keep saying I am going to start keeping a note book with me at all times but I have yet to do that.
I will try and re-cap a few cute things from the holidays and things that have happened in general.
I feel horrible… I have not even posted that my sister is expecting again and this time it’s a BOY!!!!! She is due around the 1st part of May- let’s hope this little guy isn’t ready to make his grand entrance early like Miss Emma did! We are so excited for them but deep down I hope this little guy gives them a run for their money! Emma has been the BEST child! Sure she has her moments but she goes to bed when they put her down and she eats so well all around she is a good little girl. I know I know most of it is how the parents are- and yes you’re sensing some jealously on my part!!! (Twins just make things twice as hard)
The girls had a fabulous Christmas! They got WAY more than they ever needed but I am pretty sure that most kids do! I was BAD! I would say I am done- and every time I stepped foot into a store I would find, “one more thing” Their Great-Grandma Ginny said it looked like we were running a toy store and to be honest she is RIGHT! I think so far the favorite gifts would be a tie between the Easel and the house with a “ring bell”. (Step 2 house that goes outside but we set up inside so they could actually get some use out of it) “Santa” was not thinking on some of the toys though… WHY ON EARTH SARAH WOULD YOU BUY THEM DOLLS THAT HAVE THE LITTLEST pieces in the WORLD!!!!! That was SO dumb! And of course now they “LOVE” the damn things! Every time I hide them they cry, moan, scream, kick until I get them back. (OK maybe that was a tad over the top!) But you get what I mean J
So we are driving home the other night and this conversation between Hannah and I took place:
Hannah- “mommy, never put our baby’s in the fridge again!” (in her meanest little 3 year old voice)
Me- Well I thought it would be OK since I found your baby’s that Grandma Hattie gave you in there as well.
Hannah- Welp (that is what she said) they were being ANIMALS so we put them in the fridge.
Sarah- Does that mean Mommy and Daddy put you and sissy in the fridge when you’re being bad do we?
LONG PAUSE
Hannah- Well NO and you shouldn’t do that to us- we are “little” girls.
It was quite funny! The stories they tell me anymore just amaze me… I really need to just keep a recorder on 24/7 in the car, house and on me! ;)
Gracie is into this thing where she will ask you if she can give you a smooooooooochie – she says it SO cute! She drags out the word so long and its just to cute! Jack and I will ask her over and over if we can have a SMOOCHIE!
My goal on my vacation at the end of the year was to get the girls on a schedule- well I failed miserably! But I don’t care… we had a blast… I was thinking before I went on vacation – I will never make 16 days with them – but I made it and enjoyed every freaking minute of it! I am ready to be a stay at home mom! (hint- hint Jack) We did not do much of anything – wait no we shopped like every day… I guess that wouldn’t be aloud if I weren’t bringing in a income huh?
Christmas morning was a HOOT- We got home late on Christmas Eve night so of course Jack and I were in NO shape to stay up all night putting things together! (Thank goodness I had EVERYTHING wrapped) So that morning I woke up at 8:30- I JUMPED up because I thought OH MY what is one of them already went down and see NOTHING under the tree- they would be heart broken… but I found them both in bed with daddy so I woke him up and we started with the Step 2 house first (Santa brought it to them but it was really from their Papaw and Mamaw Pleasant) that went together just fine… no problems… we started on the vanity (let me just say when it comes to name brand vs. generic you should always go with the name brand one!) We bought this one at Kmart and it was a pain in the ASS!!!! Jack cussed the entire time we SNAPPED it together… I kept saying, let’s just take it back! He wouldn’t though…. (it wasn’t like Santa wasn’t good enough to them already- like they didn’t have enough to open!) Well it wasn’t quite done yet- I think I was putting the hair dryer, curling iron etc. together…. Jack and I were both in kitchen and I turn around and there was Gracie- Hands on her little hips – she says, “You guys bought us those presents didn’t you?” Of course the vanity is sitting right there in our kitchen floor with tools everywhere! I tried to play it off that Santa left a note saying he did not have time to put it together! But I doubt she believed it J she is SO SMART! It was soon after we finally went up and woke Hannah up- she was not to thrilled with everything and had NO clue what happened with the whole “Santa” gig….years from now we will tell her ;)
It has taken me 22 days to write this – so I am giving up and posting it! J I have a story about “Good Grief” (involved Gracie) and another Gracie story but Mamaw Kathy will have to remind me what it was about…. I have done forgot!
