15 month checkup post

Well the girls had their 15 month check up on Friday. (Late because we wanted to see the doctor that had seen them when they were first born. We think he is better than the NP that are there) So any way- Here are the girls stats:

Hannah-
22 pounds 8oz
30 1/4 inches long

Gracie-
21 pounds
30 1/2 inches long

He said both girls are very healthy and we have nothing to worry about. He did say we should be off the bottle by now (which I know) and I tried yesterday with Gracie. When she and I first got up I put her warm milk (she will not drink it any other way) in a sippy cup- she took one sip and threw the cup the side. So I thought maybe I had it to warm so I went and added some cold milk to it- NOPE she would have NOTHING to do with it! As soon as I put the milk in the bottle she drank the whole thing! So what does a person do? Not giving them milk is NOT an option! We are down to 2 bottles a day so I guess maybe take their morning bottles away from them? It seems like the night bottle is the one they need the most because it seems that is when they whine for it the most. I gave them yogurt today which they LOVED! So I guess if we just bump up the calcium intake in other ways they would be OK. Thoughts on this ladies?

I had a bunch of ideas I wanted to write about and of course when I have a chance I can't think of anything!

Daddy spoiled the girls ROTTEN this weekend! You would think we were rich! He bought them 4 new outfits this weekend! And they need NONE! We were looking for shoes but never found any that we really liked.

Well if I remember what I was going to write about I will be back ;) Until then take care!

It's hard to believe how fast our kiddos are growing up! I don't think we take our girls back until 18 months. I guess I need to check.

We are still on the bottle also. It is very difficult to get them to stop wanting them, especially at bedtime. I have cut out all the bottles except that one. Sometimes, I will give them one at nap time when they don't seem to calm down enough to fall asleep. I have read in all my baby books that they don't need as much milk during this time because they're getting vitamins through food, so that's a good thing. As far as heating the milk, try to adjust it slowly. Heat just a little bit less each time until they get adjusted to it being cooler.

We'll get there! Don't worry about it. I'm still trying to break from pacifiers too!!! That's an even bigger challenge for us!

I'd just cut back to the nighttime bottle and slowly each time you give them a bottle, put less and less in the bottle until there's only a tiny bit left and then quit the night bottle.
